5 Simple Swaps for Your Oral Health Routine

We all have routines.  Whether we are working, doing laundry, or getting kids ready for bed, we often do our routines without giving our actions a second thought.  But what if we get stuck in routines that end up not serving us anymore?  Or worse, routines that end up actually hurting the very thing that we are trying to protect?
Here are 5 oral hygiene steps, how they may be hurting your health, and simple swaps to ramp up your routine!

1. Brushing hard → Brush gently

Aggressive brushing can scratch your enamel and irritate the gums.  Instead, use a soft bristled toothbrush and brush your teeth gently for longer periods of time.

2. Toothpaste → Tooth powder

Toothpaste is filled with artificial additives and toxic ingredients.  Instead, opt for toxic-free Remineralizing Tooth Powder that cleans your teeth effectively and improves your oral and overall health!

3. Nylon floss → Silk floss

Our peace silk floss is 100% biodegradable and ethically sourced. It is coated in candelilla wax ensuring that it smoothly glides between your teeth with no added preservatives or harmful chemicals.

4. Mouthwash → Tongue cleaners

Mouthwash completely strips your mouth of all beneficial bacteria which ultimately leads to a substantial increase in bad bacteria.  Not good!  Instead, use a tongue scraper to help reduce the bad bacteria without disrupting the rest of your microbiome.

5. Mouth breathe → Nose breathe

Mouth breathing can dry your mouth and throw off the pH predisposing you to more cavities, gum disease, and so much more.  Simply breathe your nose to improve your oral and overall health! Use mouth strips at night to help with this.

Change up your routine!  You'll thank yourself later.
